Polifonia: a digital harmoniser for musical heritage knowledge

Polifonia, supported by EuropeanaTech, invites you to a webinar on the results of one of the most multi-faceted music heritage data projects of recent years.

Polifonia, a project funded by the EU's Horizon 2020 programme, recently released results of four years of research and development at the intersection of musicology, semantic web technologies, AI and Music Information Retrieval. The Polifonia Web Portal, which which enhances the discoverability of European musical heritage with Linked Open Data and Knowledge Graphs, can now be explored. Researchers from the Polifonia team show why the Polifonia Web Portal is a huge step towards seamless access, interconnected stories and borderless exploration of musical heritage. This four-year project, however, has more to offer; research and development within the work packages and the 10 pilots also include the release of open source software, tools, datasets and ontologies. In this webinar, we highlight some of these components that promote research and innovation in musicology, digital humanities, heritage preservation and education.
