Cultural Heritage Datasets for Machine Learning
POSTPONED
Join this event - organised by the EuropeanaTech Community - to discuss current issues around using cultural heritage datasets for machine learning and clarify licensing questions related to this activity.
In the time of artificial intelligence, the GLAM sector finds itself in an 'openness paradox'. On one hand, open strategies are being pursued for cultural heritage data. On the other hand, there is uncertainty regarding the use of this data by machine learning models - fears relate to legal issues and respect and remuneration of authors and authorship.
Some in the tech community are willing to make qualitative datasets from cultural institutions available to the machine learning community. Innovative Datalab concepts facilitate the provision and preparation of cultural data for this purpose.
The EuropeanaTech Community invites cultural heritage tech professionals and the machine learning community to join this webinar to discuss current issues related to machine learning datasets from cultural heritage data and clarify licensing questions. In the webinar, we will look at some examples and discuss licensing issues for machine learnings datasets.
