Impact design in the aggregation experience

This webinar and panel discussion is inspired by the case of the German Digital Library who are using impact design, as set out in the Europeana Impact Playbook, to help develop a recommendation on a minimum record for museums to follow when preparing their data for publication online.

Organised together by the Europeana Impact Community and EuropeanaTech, diverse experts will share their perspectives on how ways of planning for and measuring impact can create the conditions that make it easier for heritage organisations to publish their data online, experience more targeted services and enjoy better communication with aggregators.

Stephanie Götsch from the German Digital Library museum desk will present how the methodologies of the Impact Playbook can inform the take-up of recommendations for the preparation and online publication of heritage data, leading to its wider availability, visibility and reuse potential. We’ll also hear from Antonio Davide Madonna from the CulturaItalia group and Jason Evans at the National Library of Wales, both of whom have used impact design thinking to improve the quality of their services and the user experience. This ranges from a graphic restyling of the CulturaItalia service and the creation of tools to improve the facet search, to the National Library of Wales’ digital transformation of its enquiries team, improving access to rich data about literature and authors, and increasing engagement with that data.
