SINGLE BILL: Where the Boys Are by Yotem Peled
Where the Boys Are (13+) playfully explores the intersection of dance and martial arts. Examining and reconstructing the vocabulary of different fighting practices, the two performers transform the arena into a zone of sensitive and intimate action, and expose different perspectives on relations between young men.
Yotam Peled is a choreographer, teacher and performer based in Berlin, born in 1989, working at the intersection of contemporary dance, martial arts and new circus. Together with the independent ensemble ‘the Free Radicals’ he develops work, which tours festivals and venues worldwide, with partners such as Tanztage Festival Berlin, Tanzhaus Zürich, EXPLORE Dance Network, Fabrik Potsdam, and LOFFT – das Theater Leipzig. Alongside creating, he teaches in and collaborates with institutions such as IWANSON Munich, Munstrum Theater, Ballet National Marseille – La Horde, AFI Bologna, and Fontys Academy Tilburg.
