Double Bill: Marlon Barrios Solano & Kasia Wolińska
A Double Bill*
FIRST PERFORMANCE- 20h
'Born in Latent Space'
A Performance Lecture by Marlon Barrios Solano
'This is the unseeable space in which machine learning makes its meaning. Beyond that
which we are incapable of visualizing is that which we are incapable of even
understanding.'
— James Bridle
ABOUT
'Born in Latent Space' is a live lecture-performance that unfolds as a speculative, realtime collaboration between the artist and machine learning models. Seated before a
laptop, Marlon Barrios Solano engages with generative AI systems to explore latent
space—conceived not only as a technical structure, but as a realm of all possible
stories. Latent space, in machine learning, refers to a high-dimensional abstract representation
of data where compressed, hidden features are encoded. In this piece, it becomes a poetic and political territory—an unstable, generative dimension where memory, desire, identity, and imagination recombine through algorithmic play. Through gestures, voice, and code, the performer navigates a shifting audiovisual landscape shaped by real-time responses from AI: generated text, images, and sound. The work combines storytelling, re-performance, movement scores, web-based
interaction, and algorithmic improvisation.

SECOND PERFORMANCE- 21h
'KISS'
by Kasia Wolińska
KISS, a work for three dancers, evolved alongside Prince’s posthumously released
album Piano & A Microphone 1983. Choreographed by Kasia Wolińska and premiered
during the 2022 SENSE series at Radialsystem, the piece celebrates dance as a
powerful, joyous expression of life. Drawing inspiration from Prince's effortless mastery
of diverse aesthetics and the album's rich musical tapestry, the choreography
establishes a dynamic framework for the intricate interplay between the dancers' bodies
and their connection to the audience's physical and affective experience. It playfully
explores a range of techniques, qualities, and legacies of dance, reviving its emotional
resonance and musicality. The result is a vibrant, shared experience of movement and
connection, brimming with energy and rhythm. For SUBMERGE, the performance will include a bonus part with a DJ set by Marisa Ngakegny aka Femdelic.
