Pandora & Prometheus - The Song of Fire
Music theatre meets fire artistry
The flaming production tells the legend of Prometheus and interweaves it with the myth of Pandora's box in a postmodern interpretation. Alongside (live) music and drama, fire dance is a central stylistic device: with fire fans, burning poi, hoops, sticks and rope darts, the artists demonstrate the full spectrum of fire artistry and combine it with elements of individual, partner and group dance. The play is in german.
Plot
The god of the arts Apollo and his muse Calliope, who write a song about fire and how it came to mankind, guide us through the piece. In it, they talk about the rebellion of Pandora and Prometheus: In their displeasure with the laws of Olympus, the guardian of emotions Pandora and the fire-bringer Prometheus dare to conduct a risky experiment - an experiment with far-reaching consequences for the whole of humanity. How will people deal with the flames of emotion? Will Olympus be lenient? The fiery song of light and shadow of human emotions takes shape. One question burns on the divine poet's soul: how will it be sung in the end? As a tragedy or a comedy?
What is Theater zur blauen Stunde?
As a combination of different art forms - (live) music production, fire artistry, drama and dance - the association has provided a platform for interdisciplinary creative work since 2019. The diverse backgrounds of the 25 members enable the unrestricted exchange of individual artistic skills and the development of new concepts. The amateur fire theater has the potential to blur the boundaries of genres together and create works of art as an emergent fusion of different disciplines.

The performance on 28.09. is very popular. In order to guarantee good seating and viewing opportunities for all participants, we would like to warmly recommend that you attend our other performances on Sunday, September 29th or Saturday, October 5th.
If, for time or personal reasons, only 28.09. is possible for you, please write us a short email and we will see if we can still accommodate you at the premiere.
Please note that the performance takes place outdoors and dress accordingly. Ticket holders will receive information about the weatherconditions a few days before the performance.
The ticket includes a day ticket for the Strandbad Plötzensee on the day of the performance.
