circus Zanzara (De laatste der naïeven)
The circus theatre performance ...... takes you to a wonderful toy factory. A world in which everything revolves around producing, performing and always getting a step higher. The rules are clear, the hierarchy is fixed and everyone knows their place. At least... or so it seems.
Skipping ropes sway through the air, balls fly around your ears and one toy after another rolls off the conveyor belt at high speed. But in between the hard work, the employees are starting to show more and more of themselves. Friendships, crushes and dreams arise that cannot be pushed away easily. Because what happens when people no longer only want to meet what is expected of them?
Slowly fantasy takes hold of the factory. Order makes way for chaos, work for play and obedience for making one's own choices. And while the urge for control is increasing, happiness may be hiding somewhere else than in success, status and performance.
With a smile and a tear, this circus theatre family brings to life a world in
Westergasfabriek Polonceaukade 24, 1014 DA Amsterdam
