Introduction to social impact and impact measurement
Activities in CorrelAid Data4Good projects take many forms: building dashboards, writing reports, improving data collection, fitting statistical models, or automating processes. What unites many of our projects is the context of impact measurement (“Wirkungsmessung”). But what is impact, how do NPOs measure it, and why does the term appear in so many calls for applications you have read in our newsletter?
This workshop introduces you to important concepts such as social impact, impact measurement, theory of change, and the input–output–outcome–impact (IOOI) framework. We will also explore common methods, challenges, and opportunities, and discuss why impact measurement has become increasingly important for many NPOs.
The workshop will help you understand the perspective and needs of NPO partners and how your Data4Good volunteering can support them.
Our Data4Good Volunteering workshop series prepares you for your involvement with CorrelAid – whether you want to participate in data projects or assist with our data courses as a tutor. Participation is voluntary, but it will provide you with valuable knowledge, practical tips, and confidence for your involvement. You will also receive a certificate of participation, and your participation may be considered positively when you apply to work on a project.
If you have any questions about the workshop, please contact our education team (education@correlaid.org).
