Woodworking Camp for Kids: 10- 14 years
August 19th - 23rd 9am - 12pm
Start your woodworking journey at Create!
Participants will make a traditional wooden bent box with guidance from woodworker Matthew Williams (our guest from Squamish Nation). Other projects include making a bird house using our Thunder Laser cutter and small creative projects designed to orientate and introduce woodworking skills.
Class is limited to 8 students as we have two instructors teaching this week.
There are no pre-requisites, but your kid should be able to follow safety instructions, and be
careful with sharp objects. Please note that this camp requires age-appropriate focus, so if your kid prefers to be running around, they may find this camp stressful, rather than fun!
Snacks & Breaks: We encourage you to send snacks and refreshments as it’s much
easier to be creative when you have fuel for the brain! We will break for snacks and
stretching!
- Learn to use woodworking tools and make new friends in a safe, fun, and educational environment.
- Build confidence.
- Customize projects to fit style with artistic flair.
- Ignite creativity and learn valuable skills
- Enhance problem-solving skills, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills.
We will send out get-to-know-you forms before the start of class to learn more about your kid and their needs!
