Mirror

by Die Wolke art group

A performance inspired by Michael Ende’s book “The Mirror in the Mirror: a Labyrinth”. In collaboration with the Goethe-Institut and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, this work takes the form of a walking experience, dance performance, and multimedia exhibition, for a limited audience.

Ende’s book, known primarily for “The NeverEnding Story” and “Momo”, is a collection of short stories connected through thematic motifs, objects, archetypes, and even colors, with a strong surrealist tone. The labyrinth, with its Minoan roots and connections to Jungian psychology, serves as a metaphor for an introspective personal journey toward finding a center—a path unique to each reader.

The performance borrows the overarching thematic content of the book as well as some elements of its characters, settings, and narratives to create an original work specifically tailored for the Goethe-Institut spaces. The audience will follow a 40-minute route, sharing the space with the performers and discovering perspectives, connections, and meanings shaped by the performative, visual, and auditory content, as well as by their own experiences, memories, and personalities.

March 7, 8, 9, then every Friday and Saturday.
Tickets become available incrementally.
Accessibility: The performance path includes stairs.
