Estimating digital carbon emissions workshop
Have you ever wondered how digital carbon emissions are measured, what approaches are available, and what you should keep in mind? Our online, hands-on 'estimating digital carbon emissions' workshop is for you!
This two hour online session with a maximum of twelve participants will get you started with estimating the carbon emissions of digital services.
You will:
1) Learn why and how carbon emissions of digital services are estimated.
2) Understand the value and shortcomings of carbon estimation models.
3) Apply the knowledge gained to estimating the carbon emissions of a website.
4) Learn what tools are available to help you measure a variety of digital service types.
5) Have time to network and meet others on the same journey as you.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is designed as an introduction for anyone interested in quantifying the environmental impact of the digital services they are operating or using. It’s equally suitable for people in technical or non-technical roles, such as developers who want to start quantifying impacts so they can make reductions; or sustainability leads looking to start reporting on the carbon emissions of their digital services.
This workshop will consist of:
Input delivered by our expert, Chris Adams on regulatory drivers for digital carbon estimates, real-world examples, and common tooling options
Break-out session to discuss and apply concepts with other attendees.
Ample time for questions.
Slides and other resources to take away with you.
