Noah Rees - This cave is a tunnel
A fresh breeze drifts in through the entrance, brushes the backs of those present, and sends shivers down their spines. Some touch their scars. Then the piano begins to play.
In this work, the performers move between personal doubts and questions of what it means to be human. The starting point of the project is the cave as a symbol of what remains hidden in the dark. We do not know what awaits us when we enter it. Do the past and the future share similar qualities? The performers search for another way out than the one through which they entered: a light at the end of the tunnel.

Noah has a background in contemporary circus. The physicality and techniques of circus interested him deeply and is accompanying him until now. Currently he is interested in the question of how we look at performativity and what conditions can we create so that performing can feel somewhat close to oneself and that allows one to be present, even if doubts emerge. Further he is exploring writing and how text as a medium can interact with experimental and abstract dances and choreographies.
