Roundtable - Publishing as a Collaborative Practice

An increasing number of book artists and independent publishers see the value of their work in the collaborative aspects of it. Add print studios, project spaces and galleries offering workshops and DIY book binding courses, bookstores hosting readings and performances, as well as an ever growing number of zine and book festivals, and you get an impression of the community-building potential of independent publishing.
But is community what we are actually trying to achieve? Or are we trying to form temporary alliances and heterogeneous coalitions? The roundtable brings together local and international book artists and publishers who recognize the value of the collaborative dimension of making books, exploring different ways to foster it. The participants will share some insights into their work, as well as their experience with collaborative printing, binding, publishing, and book events.

The roundtable will be of interest for all those already or not yet involved in book making and independent publishing.
