Information and conditions for the European Meeting 2025 in Duisburg

-non-binding translation for information purposes, the German version shall govern the participation-

The KLUB LANGER MENSCHEN (KLM) DEUTSCHLAND e.V. (hereinafter referred to as KLM), registered in the Register of Associations of the District Court of Munich (VR 5424), represented by the 1st Chairman Holger Schnieder, Bad Essener Straße 35, 49143 Bissendorf, Germany, will hold the 53rd European Meeting from 25.5.-1.6.2025, organised by the Executive Committee and a supra-regional organising team.

The KLM does not pursue any enriching or profitable goals with the organisation of the programme. The costs incurred for the events offered, also for external service providers, are fully absorbed in the costs of the programme calculation. The event is organised on a voluntary basis.

Any person who meets the length requirements of a German or foreign association for long people or is a member of such an association, as well as their family members, guests and people interested in becoming members of an association for long people, can participate.

For participants who are not members of a club for long people, the participation fees may be higher than for members.

Participation in the events is at your own risk.

Personal data will be collected, processed and used exclusively for the organisation of the event.

KLM will publish photos and videos of the event exclusively in the members' magazine "Große Glocke", on KLM social media channels and on the KLM websites. Publication may take place if the persons to be recognised on the image media have given their consent to this. Consent to publication can be revoked at any time.

After individual confirmation by the organisation team with details of the amounts to be paid, the registration is binding.

The costs for the booked programme are due 14 days after receipt of the individual confirmation of registration.

All costs are shown in Euro per participating person including taxes without insurance. Any transfer fees incurred are to be borne by the participating person.

If payment is not made or only made in part, KLM will assume a cancellation or partial cancellation. Booked places may be automatically passed on to participants on the waiting list.

The closing date for registration is 30.March.2025, the latest date for receipt of payment is 30.3.2025.

Cancellation of the registration (in whole or in part) free of charge can be made until 30.3.2025.

After confirmation of the timely cancellation by the organisation team, the corresponding participant costs will be refunded with the retention of a handling fee of 10 € plus any transfer costs incurred.

If the registration is cancelled after 30.3.2025, a refund will only be considered if valid reasons are presented (e.g. illness evidenced by a medical certificate). In this case, the participant fee - minus the non-cancellable costs - can be refunded. All participants should take out travel cancellation/trip interruption insurance, which ensures reimbursement of non-refundable costs.

If a registered person does not attend or only partially attends an event, this does not constitute a pro-rata refund claim.

Cancellations will be settled within a reasonable period of time after the conclusion of the European Meeting.

KLM reserves the right to close events where the maximum number of places available has been reached.

Each participating person may transfer his/her registration to another person entitled to participate. The transfer must be notified to the organisation team without delay, at the latest by 15. May 2025.

If this results in different costs, the difference will be refunded to the person leaving or the difference must be transferred immediately by the person joining.

In the event of external or non-culpable events (weather, unforeseeable situations, force majeure, official orders or similar), KLM expressly reserves the right to change the programme and schedule and to replace an originally planned service with another. In this case, no compensation can be claimed.

Each participant is responsible for his/her own accommodation.

German law shall apply.

Should individual provisions of these terms and conditions be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that comes as close as possible to the purpose that the invalid provision was intended to achieve.
