Robin Wall Kimmerer - On an understanding of nature
Lann Hornscheidt, Helmut Schreier
The US-American Robin Wall Kimmerer is an icon of nature writing. Her book "Woven Sweetgrass" has been on the New York Times bestseller list without interruption since 2020. Kimmerer weaves together indigenous wisdom and scientific knowledge about the generosity of the earth. For many authors, she provides guidance for their own writing. Author Lann Hornscheidt's definition of liveliness and living beings is also rooted in Kimmerer's tradition. For natural philosopher Helmut Schreier, Kimmerer is also a central orientation. Together, Hornscheidt and Schreier enter into a dialogue about perspectives, insights and the person Robin Wall Kimmerer.
Publishing books about nature - Nature Writing
Lann Hornscheidt, Lars Fischer, Kristin Gora, Klaas Jarchow
Many different ways of publishing books about nature - Lars Fischer does this with Aufland Verlag on the Oder; Kristin Gora is editor of Katapult Verlag in Greifswald; Lann Hornscheidt has placed the publishing house w_orten & meer on Hiddensee; Klaas Jarchow publishes European Essays on Nature and Landscape in Hamburg. Under the moderation of Reinhard Kahl, all four talk about their methods, intentions and possibilities of publishing books about nature in very different ways.
