NEUER KAMMERCHOR BERLIN critically performs J. S. Bachs JOHANNESPASSION together with Ensemble WUNDERKAMMER in the concert HÖRBARE | UNGEHÖRTE STIMMEN (transl. Audible | Unheard Voices) conducted by Adrian EMANS.
The project, sponsored by the Berlin Senat for Culture and Europe, portrays a reflected understanding of Luther's texts, musically interpreted by Bach. The world premier of Nik Bohnenberger's ...ABER WIR SIND LEBENDIG... (transl. ...but we are alive...) breaks the traditional Johannespassion, comments it and points to antisemitic parts.
We are delighted to bring this concert to you together with Ensemble WUNDERKAMMER, which won the Opus Classic in 2020 for their recording of the Johannespassion.
