Honoured and forgotten masters: court music of the House of Welf

We invite you to courtly realms, embark on a search for almost forgotten musical treasures and bring a modern premiere to the Berlin concert stage. All this in the extraordinary Musikbrauerei together with the baroque ensemble lautten compagney BERLIN. This concert project sheds light on the composers employed at the Welf courts and their significance for European music history. Eminent composers such as Heinrich Schütz, Johann Rosenmüller, and Carl Heinrich Graun worked at the House of Welf and influenced each other musically.
Selected projections of historical images and fragments complement the musical performance. The evening begins with a concert introduction by musicologist Dr Reinmar Emans.
