Reflecting on the barriers for an open and inclusive future
After the success of this workshop in 2025, we will do a second one. This time with different activities but same goal: have a safe space for women* in which we can talk about the current and future challenges to make our communities more inclusive and on how to diversifying Free Software.
The IT of tomorrow needs to have the active participation of diverse teams, that take into consideration the point of view and perspectives of the whole society. Currently the perspective of women and other underrepresented communities are often overlooked. This manifests in the usage of today’s technologies, which are often based on perspectives and algorithms that systematically leave out parts of our society.
At this workshop we want to explore our role in shaping an inclusive, open and digital sovereign future together!
Together, we’ll reflect on the barriers we face (from access and visibility to inclusion and recognition) and share strategies, stories, and practical examples that have helped us thrive in Free Software. Our goal is not only to build solidarity and support, but to surface good practices that can make Free Software truly inclusive.
This workshop is an open space by and for women, and other underrepresented communities. Registration is intended for women* (*women, inter, trans and non-binary people)
Registration needed by 31st October.
