Extrawelt was created in 2005 by Wayan Raabe and Arne Schaffhausen from Hamburg. The foundation: almost 30 years of electronic activity as DJs and producers, and as Extrawelt, the two will celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2025! The equipment: predominantly analogue sounds, enriched by digital achievements. The resulting sound cosmos is so diverse that one would like to keep all subgenre pigeonholes of modern electronic dance music closed. There is no need for wild live shows; quite the opposite seems to be the case: in 2014, Extrawelt was voted best live act by FAZEmag readers and is one of Germany's biggest exports in electronic music, despite or perhaps because of its absolute stage purism. Extrawelt have been busy again this year, releasing three EPs: the ‘Wellental’ EP on Traum Schallplatten, Midi Waters/Riverrun12‘ on Systematic Recordings and, most recently, the ’Grindmaster" EP on the legendary Turbo Recordings. They are also represented on labels such as Border Community, Cocoon Recordings, Feel My Bicep and Kompakt, tour all over the world and remix greats such as Stephan Bodzin, Pan-Pot, Dominik Eulberg, Bomb The Bass, Gregor Tresher, Alexander Kowalski, Der Dritte Raum and many more.
We have enjoyed many fantastic nights together at Paula, and this time the duo will be giving a club concert where we will get a sneak preview of their album, which will be released on 5 December on COCOON.
