Multisensory Music Theatre by the Artist Collective [in]operabilities

“Now is the moment. Now we have met and are together. Now we want to tell each other stories. Who is he? Who is she? I am infinitely curious and don’t know what’s to come,” writes Virginia Woolf in The Waves (1931). Told in a polyphonic stream of consciousness, the novel portrays the lifelong friendship of six very different people, intense encounters, childhood, ageing, and death.

The Waves is a production by [in]operabilities in co-production with Kampnagel, Gare du Nord Basel, and Radialsystem Berlin. Accessibility
The Waves is accessible to a wide range of sensory experiences. It is presented in written and spoken German, German Sign Language (DGS), and sung audio description, and developed using blind dramaturgy. During audience entry, DGS interpreters are present.
Introduction & tactile tour
Before each performance, there is an introduction to the piece including a tactile stage tour as a sensory exploration.
