The Monastery Garden – A Place of Tranquility and Discovery

The monastery garden of Schloss Clemenswerth invites visitors to explore the history and diversity of historical plants on their own. Established in 1739 when the first Capuchin monks arrived in Clemenswerth, the garden is divided into two sections: On one side, the kitchen garden, enclosed by a 230-meter-long yew hedge trimmed like a protective wall, was used for growing vegetables and herbs. On the other side, the orchard, home to over sixty trees, holds an impressive collection of fruit varieties.
