Goslar Harz Heritage Weekend

On Saturday–Sunday, 29–30 November 2025, we’re heading deep into the Harz mountains — a weekend of fairytale towns, forest calm, and warm lights:
– The colorful half-timbered beauty of Wernigerode and its castle
– The mountain air and lakeside quiet of Hahnenklee (Goslar) — gateway to one of Europe’s largest UNESCO heritage regions. At that time it will have its exceptional Christmas markets
– And the festive city glow of Hanover, with its Christmas markets, before returning home.

It’s history, hills, and heritage — a short escape that feels like a timeless story shared with friends old and new.

💜 What’s the vibe?

We’re building another little moving community.
You’ll start the day wandering through the storybook streets of Wernigerode, spend the night surrounded by mountain calm in Hahnenklee, and end the weekend under the lights and Christmas markets of Hanover.

Expect deep breaths, cozy corners, laughter, and maybe even snowflakes — the towns of Goslar and Hanover are famous for their magical Christmas markets, where the scent of cinnamon, lights, and old timber mix into something unforgettable.

We chill. 🟣💟🟪

Together at the start. Free to explore. Meet again at the end.

The Plan

  • Morning departure from Kamp-Lintfort (main campus)
  • Second pick-up in Duisburg
  • Wernigerode: explore colorful half-timbered streets and castle views
  • Hahnenklee (Goslar): check-in, lakeside walk, cozy evening & overnight stay
  • Hanover: Christmas markets & short city visit before heading back home
  • Evening return to Duisburg & Kamp-Lintfort

Exact times + maps will be shared in our WhatsApp group for registered students.

🟪 Why Hahnenklee?

Hahnenklee sits right above Goslar, in the heart of the Harz mountains.
It’s a peaceful village surrounded by forests, lakes, and views that open to the horizon.
A local bus runs regularly between Hahnenklee and Goslar, making it easy to travel down to the old town or back up into the mountains.

We chose it for its calm atmosphere — and because it gives our freshers and first-snow dreamers a real chance to see snow, something rare in our region with all the Global Warming. ❄️
Even if the weather doesn’t bring snow, the scenery itself will be phenomenal.

  • Private bus transport (Kamp-Lintfort + Duisburg pick-ups)
  • 1-night accommodation in shared rooms (Hahnenklee/Goslar area)
  • Breakfast at the accommodation
