Training for Political Imaginaries in the Frame of TanzAllianzen - 21.09.2025

FreelanceDanceEnsembleBerlin (FDEB) together with Zeitgenössischer Tanz Berlin (ZTB) e.V. are hosting two workshops in September. With this weekend, Tanzbüro Berlin is handing over the Berlin satellite format of the nationwide TanzAllianzen network project to key players in the Berlin dance scene. As part of a network funding by the Fonds Darstellende Künste, Tanzbüro Berlin has joined forces with a total of 10 dance offices/dance networks from 10 federal states to form the TanzAllianzen project: Between March and September 2025, the ten partners will carry out satellite formats on site to develop structures and strategies for their respective dance scenes.

Training for Political Imaginaries offers cultural workers vital tools to navigate personal, professional, and political crises with resilience and vision. In this time of fragmentation, we explore how to sustain momentum and mental health while staying attuned to grief, rage, and collective possibility. We invite you to ground, feel, connect, strategise and imagine otherwise. For those working at the intersections of culture, conflict, and care.

21st Sept 12-18pm | Diorama, Hauptstraße 13, 10317 Berlin

Exploring Futures – Shaping Change (Katja Sonnemann)
What forms of transformational change could emerge in the world of freelance dance – and how might those working in the field contribute to shaping them?
In this 6-hour session Katja introduces participants to the Three Horizons framework by Bill Sharpe – a tool for exploring systemic change and imagining possible futures. By exploring current dynamics, emerging shifts, and long-term possibilities, the framework helps reveal assumptions, spark new perspectives, and open up space for strategic thinking. The session invites participants to reflect collectively on their shared context and use the framework to begin developing strategies for possible futures.

A collaboration between FreelanceDanceEnsembleBerlin, ZTB e.V. and Tanzbüro Berlin in the frame of TanzAllianzen. TanzAllianzen is funded by the Performing Arts Fund from funds provided by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. The Berlin Satellite is cofinance by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion. With the kind support of Diorama.
