SaitenSprung – ein instrumentales Crescendo
Opposites attract - art needs contrast. Without sound, we would perceive silence differently. In the interplay of melody and harmony, solo and ensemble and in the variety of rhythm, timbre and dynamics, the musical development and sometimes its reversal into the opposite is made clear and at the same time our perception is sharpened. With the brass instruments trumpet, trombone and horn and the string instrument guitar, these contrasts are united in one concert and make the versatility of musical forms of expression tangible. We also encounter contrasts in the suite of the musical fairy tale The Ugly Duckling for brass ensemble by Nina Šenk: Here, the audience is whisked away into an entertaining sound story in which the brass players repeatedly retreat into a delicate piano to give space to the musical motifs of swan, duck and duckling.
Can you feel the arc that spans between the opposites for yourself? Let us surprise you.
