Teach and Code Socials May 2026
Teach and Code Socials are informal seminars that aim to build community through sharing knowledge and experience of teaching digital research skills.
The ARC Education team run a Teach and Code Social each term in collaboration with the UCL community and beyond.
This is a hybrid event with refreshments provided for those attending on campus.
Talk(s) start at 3:15pm followed by networking.
Speaker:
Stephen Walli - Adjunct Faculty at Carnegie Mellon University and Consultant
Bio:
Join speaker Stephen Walli (Carnegie Mellon University) who will share expertise from across his career of 35 years developing software engineering learning experiences for students in labs.
Stephen has worked in the IT industry since 1980 as both customer and vendor, working with open source software in the product space for 35+ years. He has been a technical executive, a founder and consultant, a writer and author, a systems developer, a self-described software construction geek, and a standards diplomat.
His most recent role in industry was principal program manager in the Open Source Ecosystem team in the Microsoft Azure Office of the CTO.
