DAVE OFF! is the traditional party highlight of the festival for electronic music culture. OFF – the lights are turned down, the bass is turned up, and your mind is allowed to switch off. This three-pronged spectacle takes place on the Saturday of the festival from 11 p.m. in the Evolution sector and takes us back to the core of electronic music until midday the following day: approachable acts, community, and ecstasy through music.
We're taking the MAIN FLOOR thing literally this time. Main character energy on the floor, not on the stage. People dance around the tables, not on them. Live acts from Dresden, Berlin, and Leipzig will cover the entire spectrum from ambient to hard. With the format "HTXSTHSTX presents STRUCTURES," the Dresden collective, together with invited guests, will once again assemble their entire analog and modular hardware spectrum on the floor, wiring the five acts into a technoid super brain. After several hours, its honest, raw, and hypnotic sounds will appeal to more than just purists. Everyone else might also feel tempted to surrender to the almost sacred soundscape with every movement of their body. Shannon Soundquist will open the floor with a live set, while MIDNXGHT and his partner marengo will combine live guitar with a solid psychedelic sound. The Hamburg-Berlin duo Epikur, who are also residents of the Hamburg club institution PAL, merge their sounds in a face2face setup.
You'll experience the BAR in disguise. "Curtain Bangs," a group of various figures from Dresden's electronic music scene, wraps the room in curtains that double as a screen, creating a completely new environment. A mix of mapping and live video loosely plays with the space, blurring the floor's orientation. The DJs aren't directly visible, yet always there. You're in the moment. Surrounding you is the music. Local acts bring playfulness and lightness; every track brings a smile to your face. It'll be housy, proggy, bouncy, but always danceable. Acts from Berlin, Bremen, and Dresden will be there: Multifun, Shenaya S., gretaepisch, sYmse, and Actant.
The sector tent becomes a REFUGE. A chill-out area invites tired legs to take a power nap, giving you and your friends a place to linger, to enjoy being. Slow down a bit instead of stopping altogether. Musically, this is reflected in a relaxed sound. The sets have room to breathe, to talk. Detours and excursions are not accidental, but firmly planned. Chilling is mandatory, dancing optional. Maybe, but only just maybe (but also very, very likely), we'll ignite a musical firework or two in the middle and towards the end. Before the lights go out, we'll turn it on again. Get ready for Wilhelm Richard, Emaille, Karius Baktus, and the Curtain Bang AllStars.
Tickets are still available at the box office.
