The idea for the Japanese-German Business Association (DJW) was born in 1984, when German industry representatives visited the Expo in Tokyo and returned to Germany with a variety of impulses, new contacts and, above all, enthusiasm for the country.
The trip by the industry representatives thus gave rise to the concept of an informal discussion group to promote a fair and transparent dialog between Japan and Germany - which lead to the founding of DJW in 1986.
Today we unite 1.063 members located in Germany and Japan, representing companies, institutions, politics, media, freelancers as well as individual persons.
