INTERNATIONAL LIVE JOURNALISM FESTIVAL 2026
Following successful editions in Helsinki (2022), Toronto (2023), and Tilburg (2025), the international live journalism community is coming to Berlin for its fourth edition. This November, approximately 80 practicing and aspiring creative heads - hailing from both the media landscape and the performing arts - will come together at Publix.
This year’s theme centres on a fundamental question: When factual content enters the fictional setting of a theatre, how much performance is actually needed to define the genre? In an era where almost everything carries a performative quality, we will explore the boundaries and potential pitfalls of this intersection with experts from both the theatre and media/live journalism worlds. We will explore the unique advantages of theatres as "temples of storytelling" - places where social issues have been mirrored, debated, and negotiated for centuries - and what they can offer to modern journalism.
