Program:
16:00 – 17:15 Advanced: Reversing directions through Counterweight
We’ll work through a movement sequence, exploring how changing the direction of turns creates new movement options through the effective use of counterweight.
Requirements: pião, giro paulista.
17:30 – 18:45 Improvers: Around we go: beyond the basic paulista
We will explore how to bring dynamism to simple paulista turn. The pivot technique will add variety and create new possibilities for both leaders and followers.
Requirements: confidence with giro paulista from open embrace, good axis control.
19:00 – 20:15 Open Level:One Rhythm, Many Moves: unlocking creativity
We’ll spice up our open dancing with a different rhythmic pattern and discover how a single idea can inspire creativity across different moves.
Requirements: Some previous experience with Forró classes; basic steps and simple turn.
20:15 – 22:30 Free Dancing
About our guest Arianna Manca 💃✨
Based in Lisbon, Arianna has created a unique teaching style that bridges Medicine and Dance—emphasizing body awareness, comfort, and pure versatility on the floor.
From a childhood built on Ballet and professional Belly Dance to intensive training across Europe and Brazil, her passion for Forró took her all the way to a 3rd place win at a Professional Jack & Jill in Brasília. 🏆
Now, through her project Forró com Ari and collaborations with Forró do Coreto, she’s bringing a technical yet light methodology to dancers everywhere. Her mission? Teaching an accessible Roots & Universitário style that gives both leaders and followers the ultimate freedom to express themselves. 🌟
