Jorge do Rojão

Born in São Paulo, accordionist, singer and composer Jorge do Rojão began his musical career at the age of six as a violinist in a church orchestra. At twelve he first picked up his father's accordion, and from then on the instrument became his great passion.

He started out playing Forró Pé de Serra in trios and bands, until launching his solo career in 2013 under the stage name Jorge do Rojão. As his reputation in the music scene grew, he was invited to accompany major artists and bands on accordion, among them João Silva, Antônio Barros, Zenilton, Azulão de Caruaru, Banda Rastapé, Bicho de Pé and Peixelétrico.

In 2013 he released his first album, "É pra se remexer", a three-track EP that marked his first success as a solo artist. His second album, "Clareou", followed in 2016 with 12 tracks — 11 of them original compositions, plus one recorded with the trio "Os Três do Nordeste", icons of Forró Pé de Serra. In 2019 he released his third album, "Energia", with twelve tracks, which was warmly received across the Forró Pé de Serra scene.

In 2023 he fulfilled a long-held dream by releasing his first vinyl record, featuring two of his own instrumental compositions: "Forró na neve" and "Forró na primavera".
