Starring Aki Takase and Alexander von Schlippenbach at the grand piano, the concert series ELEKTROPOLIS at SPREEHALLE Berlin presents a thrilling tête-à-tête of superlatives.

Aki Takase, a pianist and composer rooted in the musical traditions of her home country of Japan, is one of the most versatile figures in contemporary jazz. Her work reaches from conventional musical structures and harmonies all the way through to full abstraction. The stylistically multifaceted avant-gardist was recently awarded the German Jazz Prize in early June 2021. In HIGH VOLTAGE, she will be playing alongside her husband Alexander von Schlippenbach. Known as one of the pioneers of European free jazz, von Schlippenbach lends sensual abstraction to the duo.

Joined at the grand piano, two of the most distinguished figures in contemporary jazz come together to lead their audience through a brilliant evening of ELEKTROPOLIS.
