Postmigrant film workshop

Film workshop for young adults with an international biography or with the much-talked-about migration background.
15-24.07. ABC Bildungs- und Tagungszentrum e.V. - Hüll

How does it shape my identity not to be read as German? What questions am I confronted with? What experiences do I have on the street, at school, in training, in authorities, at home or with friends? How do I deal with different facets of discrimination and racism? Can I always recognise them? What do I need to be able to act when I or someone is disadvantaged?

These are just some of the questions we want to ask, but we want to go further and experience creative audio-visual forms of resistance and activism together, without forgetting self-care and rest. In a safer space for young people with a migration history and/or people affected by racism, we will learn how politics is not only made with words but also with images, what visual activism can move and what a story needs to become a film.

You don't need any previous experience with professional film equipment.
We want to try out, experiment, make films and be able to be "myself". All this in a place where we get to know each other, organise ourselves, strengthen ourselves in order to become capable of acting together.
The workshop is free of charge for participants and includes accommodation and meals.
This project is done in cooperation with the self-organized youth initiative Minority Point. (
