Bogen 43 presents a very special night of music and performance with Plinio (from Madrid) and Francis Gori (from New York and Montreal). Stylistically, Francis Gori nods to 80’s synth pop stalwarts like Pet Shop Boys or Bronski Beat, and ethereal outsiders like Julee Cruise and Mazzy Star. Their songs are wandering, lyrics surreal and shadowy, drawn to themes of temptation, ecstasy, uncertainty and longing.

Plinio (Pablo Eguía) is a musician and filmmaker. His repertoire consists of Iberian folklore, interpolations and borrowed melodies, long strings of words in Spanish, nocturnal legends, dreadful orchestral samples, field recordings, celestial choirs, and siren songs. His latest work, Historia Natural (2024), is a stage project involving Super 8 projections, lighting effects, and a series of dramatic performances. A show in which lustrous Ektachrome films parade across the screen to songs that evoke tales, gossip, and memories of a bygone world.
