What the weekend looks like

• Saturday — workshops + photo shoot included in the ticket price (3 photos per person, a dedicated, relaxed slot from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm for those doing the full programme – but you can also catch the photographer throughout the day and get yourself a souvenir!)
• Sunday — workshops + Aerial Challenges = competition with prizes
• Monday — a short, relaxed programme before departure

Saturday, 2 January

• 9.00–9.30 — Hall opens (rig check, getting changed, coffee)
• 9.30–10.00 — Warm-up (Klaudia)
• 10.00–11.30 — Twists & tangles vol 1 (Silks · Jessica)
  Split-silks sequencing — weaving through two strands to build flow and playful pathways.
• 11:45–13:15 — Beat goes on (Silks) or Dare to flare (Hoop) — running simultaneously, choose one
  Silks: linking foundational beats into flowing combinations.
  Hoop: Spin, spin, spin. Learn the foundations of spinning, discovering different entries such as flare to front bar, cut to sit and flare up to the strap. You will gain more confidence and power in your spin.
• 13:30–15:00 — Curl & whirl (Hoop · Kate)
  Sequencing and choreography inside and around the hoop. Using transitions as core moments of choreography while finding spiral movements that weave beautifully in the air.
• 15:00–16:00 — Photo shoot

Sunday, 3 January

• 9:00–9:30 — Hall opens

  Silks: advanced sequencing — C-shapes, pop-throughs and catch-and-release flow.
  Hoop: Looking above the hoop, explore big show stopping movements on the strap with a spin.
• 1.30 pm–3.00 pm — Curl & whirl (Hoop · Kate)
  Sequencing and choreography inside and around the hoop. Using transitions as core moments of choreography while finding spiral movements that weave beautifully in the air.
• 3.00 pm–4.00 pm — Aerial Challenges

Monday, 4 January — travel day, minimal programme

• 9.00–9.30 — Warm-up
• 9.30–11.00 — Roll with it (Silks · Jessica)
  C-shaping and rolling technique — building the foundations for rolling in the air.
• 11.15–12.45 — Wrap & roll (Silks) or Strap up vol 2 (Hoop) — running simultaneously, choose one
  Silks: Get wrapped up in the S-Wrap! This workshop explores transitions, sequences, and different pathways in and out of the S-Wrap. We’ll take it beyond the usual wheeldown, finding sneaky and dynamic ways to move through the wrap!
  Hoop: Looking above the hoop, explore big show stopping movements on the strap with a spin. .
• 13.00–14.30 — Basics dynamic (Hoop · Kate)
  Learn basic dynamics on hoop such - Beat to front balance, Beat to Bottom Bar, rolls and more!

Instructors

Jessica — Silks & Rope

Jessica Leong — an aerialist, performer and instructor originally from San Francisco, now living in Dublin. She teaches silks and rope at all levels, combining solid technique with creativity and musicality. She completed the 40-hour Aerial Cirque instructor training course (2020) and the Cardinal Teacher Training with Jessica John at Circus Mobility (2024). She has led workshops around the world, created choreography for shows and mentored artists supported by Arts Council Ireland.

Kate — Hoop

Kate Finegan is an aerialist, actor and writer specialising in aerial hoop and aerial silks. She has worked with companies including Dead Centre (Dublin Theatre Festival, London's Royal Court Theatre, Noorderzon Festival), Fidget Feet (Sharjah Fringe, Dubai, and Nashville, USA), Lords of Strut (Dublin Theatre Festival) and All or Nothing, Aerial Theatre Company Scotland. She has curated aerial dance performances for Beyond the Pale Festival for the past four years, and this year curated 'Spéir Bhean', an aerial dance show for the St Patrick's Festival. Kate premieres her own show, West Meath Gothic, in 2026 as part of Dublin Fringe Festival. She has taught aerial workshops across Ireland as well as in Vienna and Linz, Austria, and has performed at venues including the RDS, the Guinness Storehouse, The Arc Dublin and The Everyman, Cork. Kate can't wait to share her love of spiralling, spinning and twisty choreography on hoop and strap — to get the most from her workshop, come with a long-arm (or solid bent-arm) invert under the bar, a lift to front balance, and some basic spinning experience.

Photo session

On Saturday, @kn.fotopole will be in the hall. The photographer will be available for most of the day, and a quiet slot from 15:00 to 16:00 has been reserved for those on the full programme. Each participant is guaranteed 3 photos.

Aerial Challenges

On Sunday — a competition with prizes for participants. SIGN UP DURING THE EVENT!
Get ready — bring a fun costume, and on Sunday you'll be given tasks to complete on a sling, rope or hoop.
