Unfortunately, due to the corona measures π¦ many christmas markets around the Netherlands were cancelled π’. However, ESN Leiden is still determined to bring you a Christmas experience you won't forget ππ
Therefore, we will be visiting Valkenburg π»(only three short hours awayπ€) for an unforgettable Christmas experience πβοΈ Valkenburg is an adorable medieval town thats known for its many Christmas markets during the holiday season πβοΈ
We will be visiting a few different of these markets including the oldest, largest, and most visited underground christmas market in Europe ποΈπ²; the underground marl tunnels of the Wilhelmina cave to experience the unique nativity scene πΌ; and a Christmas market in the heart of Valkenburg β€οΈ
The ticket ποΈ includes:
- Train tickets to and from Valkenburg (optional) π
- Christmas Market Municipal Cave entrance πποΈ
- Winter Wonderland underground nativity scene βͺπΌ
- Return ticket for the Cable car to Wilhelminatoren (Christmas market at the top) π

We will be leaving from Leiden quite early (around 7:40) as we do have a long train ride π ahead of us to get to Valkenburg so please keep that in mind! But it will be totally worth it don't worry π
