At the Tipping Points: Left-wing Strategies for the Future until
Our present is dystopian. Amidst the rise of right-wing and authoritarian forces, a climate in collapse, and wars and conflicts that continue to escalate, militarisation, isolationism and repression have become the new normal – at our borders, but also within our societies. The social left is on the defensive: the spaces for free speech are shrinking, political manoeuvre is narrowing, and moments of solidarity are becoming rarer.
The ongoing capitalist crisis is escalating. We face a choice: everyone for themselves, or moving forward together.
This is precisely where our conference comes in. We want to analyse what it means when the climate is collapsing, a regime of war prevails, capital is preparing new attacks, and the right is in power. We want to discuss what strategies and tactics we need to simultaneously organise solidarity and protection, mobilise resistance and rebellion, and fight for alternatives and majorities. And we want to agree on which forms of practice and projects are suitable for this and which still need to be developed.
In the dystopia of the present, we are more convinced than ever that we need a radical social left: organised, united in solidarity and undogmatic. Let’s talk about what that can and must mean, now and in the future.
Conferences cost money, so we ask that you bring your contribution in cash with you on Friday when you register. We recommend €15 (reduced), €30 (regular), and €45 (solidarity contribution). To help us estimate our financial situation after the conference, please let us know how much you plan to contribute as a solidarity contribution. If this changes, please let us know.
