Choirs are many. Choirs that specialize in jazz, some. But there is only one choir that handles the song material so creatively and at the same time forms such a precise body of sound as the Jazzchor Freiburg!
Since he founded the choir in 1990, Bertrand Gröger has been directing the Jazzchor, and most of the arrangements also come from him: the repertoire ranges from swing to fusion, spiced up with scat singing, collective rap and shout choruses. The choir has performed at many festivals and in even more countries and has been euphorically acclaimed everywhere. This is also true of the CD productions, such as "Infusion", whose program the choir performs with band in the Evangelische Stadtkirche. Here they sing compositions by e.s.t. and Weather Report, by Pat Metheny and Herbie Hancock, among others.
The Jazzchor Freiburg is the measure of all things in the universe of polyphonic jazz singing!
