Cæcilie Norby is the grande dame of Scandinavian singing: Her debut in jazz was immediately the album of the year in her home country, and from then on things went steadily upwards. She sang with Ray Brown and Dianne Reeves, the Brecker Brothers and John Scofield - "Queen of bad excuses", as the title of one of her best CDs would have it. Eventually she met bassist and producer Lars Danielsson, and now they have a 19-year-old daughter.
Danielsson is one of the most sought-after bassists in Europe and an outstanding composer. The two have also released a duo CD: their slightly smoky voice and his growling double bass go together wonderfully. This jazz dream couple is complemented by the famous guitarist Ulf Wakenius, who played an unforgettable concert with Iiro Rantala at the Trans4JAZZ-Festival in der Linse three years ago.
Cæcilie Norby, Ulf Wakenius and Lars Danielsson - a dream line-up guarantees playful, grooving jazz of the highest quality.
