Even in London's extraordinary jazz scene, the Ishmael Ensemble - originally from Bristol - occupies a special position: Hardly any other band ventures so much into the field of tension between current UK jazz and electronic music: Their melange of club sounds, trip hop grooves, jazzy improvisations and almost psychedelic moods catapulted their debut "A State Of Flow" two years ago to album of the month in the "Guardian" and countless hymns of praise.
Mastermind is the multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ who first conjured his musical vision onto the dancefloors with keyboards, computer and saxophone until he founded his band - which immediately went through the roof! In their luggage they have their current longplayer "Visions Of Light".
