When British singer and multi-instrumentalist Jono McCleery meets Dutch jazz saxophonist Bart Wirtz, a musical dialogue unfolds — full of warmth, depth, and unexpected moments. Jono McCleery has established himself internationally as one of the most compelling voices of his generation — a stylistic trailblazer between soul, folk, electronica, and avant-garde. Celebrated for his collaborations with Maribou State, Portico Quartet, and Bonobo, as well as his releases on the renowned label Ninja Tune, he crafts songs of striking emotional range. His current album Reconcile (Sonar Kollektiv), recorded alone in a forest cabin, speaks of loss, fatherhood, and a longing for connection — deeply personal and musically expansive.
Bart Wirtz, one of Europe’s leading jazz saxophonists (winner of the Edison Award, among others), contributes emotional depth, melodic sensitivity, and improvisational freedom. His music thrives in the space between tradition and innovation — the same space where McCleery’s songs come to life.
