China Moses is one of those singers who effortlessly manages to fill every note of her music with genuine devotion - and whose voice never lets go of anyone it has ever touched. In her concerts, she wants to make sure that the audience has something to smile about between songs.
As the daughter of jazz legend Dee Dee Bridgewater, China Moses already grew up under musical influence. Despite her famous mother, however, she developed her own musical personality and a very individual style. She released her first single "Time" at the age of 18, the video for which was produced by none other than Jean-Baptiste Mondino, who has also worked with Madonna, Sting and David Bowie. With "This one's for Dinah", China Moses, as singer and producer, created a successful homage to Dinah Washington - her great role model alongside Etta James and Nina Simone. In collaboration with her colleague and good friend Raphael Lemmonier, China Moses is working on developing her style even further. Her own songs, however, are already destined to become new jazz standards.
China Moses loves nothing more than to delve into the themes of her music. The singer with the opulent but also incredibly changeable voice sees herself as a storyteller. In doing so, she always tries to make jazz more soulful and soul more jazzy.
