ALMA NAIDU & BAND (D)
The award-winning singer and composer Alma Naidu is one of the most interesting musicians on the German jazz scene. The Süddeutsche Zeitung described her as “one of Germany's greatest vocal talents”, while Jazzthing magazine praised her “delicate, beautifully clear and absolutely intonation-proof voice”. Alma Naidu has been honored with the BMW Welt Young Artist Jazz Award and the Kurt Maas Jazz Award, among others. In 2021 she received the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize.
On her debut album Alma (Leopard Records, 2022), she presents her music anchored in singer-songwriter jazz and made it into the top 10 of the German jazz charts. Since then, the classically and jazz-trained musician has been touring with her program influenced by jazz, pop, soul and film music together with her band, in which she also plays the keyboard. Soulful pieces between the styles, touching and energetic.
