For over 40 years, the Yellowjackets have been captivating music lovers worldwide with their innovative jazz fusion sound. Founded in Los Angeles in 1977, four exceptional musicians have developed into one of the most influential bands in the genre.
With their distinctive blend of powerful jazz, pulsating funk, and atmospheric electronics, the Yellowjackets create a sound all their own. Led by founding member Russell Ferrante, they continue to showcase impressive virtuosity. Their artfully grooving fusion of jazz, pop, R&B, and Latin convinces with long melodic lines and solos over complex yet always effortlessly sounding rhythms.
With 30 albums and 17 Grammy nominations, the Yellowjackets are an impressive example of creative prowess. Now, they are returning to the Trans4JAZZ Festival for the second time—their performance nine years ago at the Linse is surely still fondly remembered by many attendees.
Experiencing these four legends live is a must for every jazz fan, especially in the intimate atmosphere of the Zehntscheuer.
