Max, in his late twenties and a comedy writer, sees himself at the beginning of a meteoric career: He's the host of his own show – at least three times. Then he learns from the TV guide that it's been canceled again. The handsome guy from the club, supposedly the new love of his life, wants nothing more to do with him. And doesn't Max actually want his ex-girlfriend back anyway? His path to the big stage and to true love is paved with embarrassing gaffes, awkward silences after jokes, heartbreak, and disappointments – and the question of whether there can be a happy ending for Max in the end, or whether his life will forever remain the least funny show in the world.
