Are smart cities more than just a collection of houses equipped with solar panels and autonomously driving cars? Does the future of our cities concern us all, and should this future be shaped in cooperation with the larger urban society? Is digitalisation an opportunity to make cities more liveable?

Join us on Wednesday, 16th November for our Berlin Smart City Night, hosted by the CityLAB Berlin, Berlin's public innovation lab for digitalisation. CityLAB Berlin is a project of Technologiestiftung Berlin and funded by the Berlin Senate Chancellery. The event is further supported by Berlin Partner for Business and Technology.

Over the course of the evening, we'll explore topics like innovation, cooperation and digitalisation while listening to signature Berlin beats. Alongside this, you'll have the chance to network with other professionals from the digital innovation sector.

The evening will be opened by Dr. Ralf Kleindiek, Chief Digital Officer (CDO) of the State of Berlin and guests will be able to hear a short keynote presentation by Jeanne Holm, the Deputy Mayor for Budget and Innovation of the City of Los Angeles. As Deputy Mayor, she is responsible for topics including technology, equity, digital inclusion, fiscal accountability, municipal broadband, participatory budgeting, and digital transformation of government services. She was the evangelist for open data for the U.S. Government under President Obama, the lead for Africa open data for the World Bank, and the Chief Knowledge Architect at NASA. She serves as an advisor for the U.N. on data and astronautics, is a Trustee of Claremont Graduate University, and teaches at UCLA.
