TICTeC presents: Digital Democracy Edinburgh
Bringing together leading minds on digital technology for more effective and participatory democracy
Digital Democracy Edinburgh is a two-day conference where policymakers, researchers, civic tech practitioners, public servants, and democratic innovators will come together to explore how digital tools can help make democratic systems more effective, inclusive and participatory.
The conference is a joint collaboration between the Scottish Government, mySociety, the University of Edinburgh’s Futures Institute, and the AI for Collective Intelligence (AI4CI) Hub.
Produced by the mySociety team behind TICTeC, this international summit builds on a decade of TICTeC’s work and serves as the official follow-up to last year’s Digital Democracy The Hague summit.
Across the two days, we’ll explore topics including artificial intelligence and public values, digital public infrastructure, civic technology, collective intelligence, plurality, deliberative technology, and new ways of blending online and offline participation. We’ll look at what technology can make possible, as well as its limitations, trade-offs and real-world implications for democratic practice. A call for proposals is now open, with opportunities for researchers, practitioners and others working across these areas to contribute to the programme.
Digital Democracy Edinburgh is made possible with additional generous support from The Evens Foundation, RadicalxChange and Delib.
Please get in touch via tictec@mysociety.org if the ticket price is a barrier to attending the event - we have limited concession spaces we can make available for students, grassroots organisations, self-funded participants, or anyone for whom the standard rate is a barrier.
