The first sentence of the Jedi Code states, "There is no emotion, there is peace". In the architecture of a software project, strong emotions are indeed something that we want to avoid. However, even with good intentions in designing a suitable architecture at the beginning of the project, some decisions are made based on uncertain requirements, and its structure is normally created to be static. Expected and unexpected changes that affect the architecture throughout the project's lifetime can lead it to the Dark Side. Reactive decisions and the lack of a plan can corrupt the architecture, leading to rework, technical debt, and a huge maintenance effort. In this presentation, the Jedi Code will guide us through a journey of practices that prepare the development team for changes in the quality attribute requirements, providing a consistent approach to bring the Force into the software architecture evolution.
