Paramita of generosity - On giving and letting go in Buddhism
My house, my car, my job - what we have often determines how we feel. In our society, it is common to accumulate as many stuff as possible and to be completely focused on our own benefit in order to be truly successful.
In a world so focused on possessions, status and self-benefit, it is perhaps the greatest act of rebellion to give wholeheartedly - without the hope of getting anything in return.
In this teaching, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche will explain the meaning and practice of the paramita of generosity in Buddhism, drawing on his many decades of experience as a Tibetan Buddhist master.
Ringu Tulku Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist master of the Karma Kagyu school. He was extensively trained by many great masters of all schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Ringu Tulku Rinpoche is a representative of the Rime movement, which strives to set a positive example against sectarianism in Tibetan Buddhism. He has regularly traveled to the West for more than twenty years. Rinpoche speaks fluent English, is very familiar with the Western mentality and has a unique ability to make the content of Tibetan Buddhism accessible to modern thinking. Rinpoche is co-founder and honorary chairman of Bodhicharya International and the spiritual director of Bodhicharya Germany in Berlin.
