The Berlin-based Caribbean-American singer and songwriter Sera Kalo (she/her) was honoured with the German Jazz Award in July of this year. The music of her project eXante moves between different genres, combining jazz with orchestral sounds and electronic beats. The artist is characterised by poetic storytelling and intense soundscapes. Cosmic Race's music addresses the ongoing effects of colonialism and the resulting cultural changes. The Brazilian-born artist's project reflects on identity, differences and similarities in a post-colonial world. Cosmic Race celebrates the universal and the collective, that which unites us and can bring us together again.

DJ Schaumkraut, the artist and DJ, plays in her sets with pop music from different countries in West Africa and the Caribbean. Nigerian disco sound from the 70s meets club hits from European sound artists.
