Join the Digitalisation Community of Volt (DigiCom) for the open Digital Democracy in Action event as part of the Volt Discussion Series (VDS)! Both Volt-members and non-members are welcome.

In 3 panels we are discussing the most important topics regarding the digital transformation of society together with Volt EP candidates and representatives, experts, and other guests!

A Volt NL GA takes place at the same time of the event, therefore we have built in enough breaks in the programme so that Volters from NL can still vote remotely on motions during the event.

How to fight online misinformation and hate speech and what is the impact of the Digital Services Act? How to make the online space more safe and truthful, while protecting online freedom of expression and our privacy? Are potential regulations like ChatControl not going too far and are there other regulations or technologies infringing our rights?

Panel 2: Fostering a thriving Digital Economy!
How to promote open standards and stay innovative, while creating competitive businesses and protect ourselves from cyber attacks? Why should we invest in new technologies to not stay behind in the world, while making these technologies more sustainable? What is the impact of the AI Act, Digital Markets Act and Cyber Resilience Act?

Panel 3: Enhancing Digital Public Services!
How to develop digital public services, while taking along everybody in this digital transformation who don't have the digital skills? How to build more capable digital governments to provide these services and what is holding them back? What are the experiences of local and national governments in the field of digital transformation?
